Plan for the NEW YEAR!

Hey there, this is GKR. Happy New year 2020!
In this decade I have certain goals to achieve. Commonly, people have several new year resolutions. However, it is tough for everyone to keep up with their resolutions. Most of them, 99 per cent of them give up right after a week or so after starting their new routine.

Here are my tips to plan your year and keep up with your routine.

1) Make a list

It is essential to always make a list of all your goals and the resolutions you have for the year. Also, fill your surrounding with the list and some motivational quotes to keep yourself inspired.

2) Divide the list into sub-goals

Let me give you an example. When you are walking, if the map shows twenty kilometres for your destination, you are more likely to give up as the journey would be long and the goal is far from sight. But if the map shows you certain short goals such as 2 kilometres towards the north, turn right, 1 kilometre and then turn left, and so on. It is easier because the long journey is split into short goals. Once you achieve easier short term goals, it is easy to achieve the long term goal.

3) Partner with inspiring people

I have certain friends who help me through tough times. Working with someone who is inspiring will boost your spirit tenfold and make you want to work as hard as them. For example, it is tough to go to the gym and work all day alone. But if you go to the gym with a fellow athlete, and if he is a hard worker then his presence and hardworking nature will make you want to work like him. Thus find an inspiring partner for work.

4) Reward yourself

Whenever you complete a task or if you achieve one of your resolutions, then make sure to reward yourself. Investing in one's self is the best investment anybody can ever make.

5) Make sure that your resolutions are achievable

Sometimes people make resolutions like "I want to be happy, I want to lose weight, I want to earn more money." These resolutions do not have measures and thus it is impossible to satisfy you. Instead, make resolutions such as "I want to lose 10 KG, I want to earn one million this year." With a measure, you can easily track your goals and split them into short term goals to achieve it easily.
